If you love wine but the hate the inconvenience of drinking it from a bottle, Union Wine Co. has the solution: wine in a can. It’s an idea that came to Union Wine Co. during a rebranding session in which the company sought ways to make their wines more accessible. And let’s face it: what’s easier to drink and/or transport than a can of beer? Thus, the idea of wine in a can was born. From there, Union Wine Co. took the intelligent approach of eliminating wines that needed to be decanted or undergo a certain aging process for optimum drinkability, and instead focused on wines ideally suited for life in a can – wines from the fresh and fruit-driven world, either white or red. And while you’ll have to wait ’til Q2 of next year to see how well Union Wine Co.’s plan worked, early taste testing at Portland’s Feast Food and Wine festival was exceptionally positive.
