Continuing their lineup of complicated watchmaking, Ralph Lauren has introduced the newest member of their watch family: the Ralph Lauren Automotive Flying Tourbillon (price $TBA). It sports a design based on one of Ralph Lauren’s favorite cars – a 1938 Type 57SC Bugatti Atlantic Coupe – with design elements including a 44.8mm stainless steel case in shot-blasted black finish, a two layer dial with elm burlwood and matte black finish, and of course, the flying tourbillon. As for the complication, the Ralph Lauren Automotive Flying Tourbillon comes with a La Fabrique du Temps movement (like the RL67 Tourbillon) named the Caliber RL167, which is comprised of 142 components and a 40 hour power reserve. Unfortunately, such a movement comes at a hefty price: while pricing for the Ralph Lauren Automotive Flying Tourbillon has yet to be announced, it’s likely going to set you back about $80,000.
