Rocking what’s easily one of the most awesome names and logos ever for a brewery (yes, that is indeed a pony with little T-Rex arms and a half dinosaur head), Ponysaurus Brewing Co. is a nanobrewery based in Durham, NC crafting beers meant to be “savored, appreciated, contemplated, philosophized, studied, nuzzled, and mindfully guzzled.” But as slick as their logo is, their beer sounds even better. There’s Biere de Garde, crafted from three types of barley, wheat, rye, and oats. There’s India Pale Ale, an IPA with a crisp bouquet of lemon citrus, grapefruit rind and melon. There’s Fig Saison Ale, noting several varieties of wheat, barely, rye, and figs. And let’s not forget the Reserve Ale, a dark strong ale featuring rich brown malts and Belgian candy syrup made in-house. With a total of eight beers in Ponysaurus Brewing Co.’s lineup, I’m pretty sure that if I lived in the NC area, I’d be drinking one right now.
