If you think you need to spend a fortune to get great sound from a turntable, think again.  The U-Turn Audio Orbit Turntable in either Basic ($179) or Plus ($279) configurations gives you a rich analog sound at a price that’s roughly half of its nearest competition.  Features of both Orbit Turntables include a unipivot tonearm, fully manual belt-drive, two speed pulley (33/45 RPM), 24V Synchronous motor, machined MDF plinth and vibration damping feet.  Where the two differ is in the cartridge and platter.  On the Orbit Basic, you can opt for either an Ortofon or Audio-Technica cartridge to pair with its MDF platter, whereas the Orbit Plus comes with an Audio-Technica AT95E cartridge and acrylic platter.  The Orbit Plus is also available in your choice of blue, green or black color options, verses the Orbit Basic’s standard black.  Whichever you choose, it’s the perfect introduction to the rich warm tones you can only get from analog.
