LaCie Sphere

If you’re looking to blend the utility of an external hard drive with an added dash of design to enhance your work environment, check out the new LaCie Sphere hard drive ($490). It features high-speed USB 3.0 (which makes file transfers and backups nearly three times faster than with USB 2.0); 1TB of storage, which should give you enough space for a couple years of backups or an extensive photo, video, and music library; and no power cord, due to the fact the LaCie Sphère is powered through the USB cable.  Its most notable feature, however is its silver plated sphere design, created by the legendary French silversmith Christophle and handcrafted at the company’s Normandy plant.  If you want one, the LaCie Sphere will be available later this month.
