Matt Turner’s Honda PA50III Moped is an exercise in love, with build features including a 2013 Honda Camino frame, modified Honda PA50II engine cases, a Peugeot Speedfight 70cc liquid-cooled scooter cylinder and head, a ’77 Mopeds Honda stuffed 10-pin crank, a Volkswagen auxiliary water pump and more
How do you take the fun of a moped but make it perform like a full-sized custom bike? If you’re Matt Turner, you build the Honda PA50III. It’s a bike that’s been pieced together from a wide range of components, starting with a 2013 Honda Camino frame with top tube welded in. From there, Matt went nuts, adding a custom designed chro-moly subframe, some heavily modified Honda PA50II engine cases, a Peugeot Speedfight 70cc liquid-cooled scooter cylinder and head, a ’77 Mopeds Honda stuffed 10-pin crank, a Volkswagen auxiliary water pump, a Metrakit piston and a bunch more. And while you can’t buy one (unless you have Matt custom build one for you), it’s still fun seeing how crazy a moped can get with a little love and tlc.
