Aiming to add a new level of intelligent lighting to your home, the new Goldee Smart Light Controller ($250) seeks to replace your old light switches with a newer, automated lighting controller. It works by understanding your lighting schedule: awake to a sunrise alarm, automatically have your lights shut off while you’re at work, have your lights turn back on when you arrive home, and have your lights dim as you prepare for bed. There’s also a dim night lighting mode in case you need to get around during the middle of the night, and a smart security mode to simulate your presence while you’re away. In addition to its automated functionality, the Goldee is also controllable via the Goldee app on your favorite smartphone. The Goldee is currently in pre-order stage, with deliveries expected in summer 2014.
