Spodee was originally a combination liqueur that was a mixture of homemade country wines, local herbs, spices, moonshine and whatever else was laying around. Today, the current Spodee from White Mule Farms ($8) mimics the original – it’s packaged in a corked milk bottle and best described as a strong fruity flavored wine with undertones of cocoa.
