Forged in France from high carbon steel, Best Made Company’s Douk-Douk knife ($32) channels the douk-douk knife design that began in the early 1900’s.  Originally created for French colonies residing in Oceania, douk-douk knives are simple pocketknives with no locking mechanism, engraved with etchings of mythological characters (also known as douk-douks).  Best Made Company’s Douk-Douk knife notes the design of the “The Sorcier” (the sorcerer), a Melanesian spirit incarnation that was originally believed to bring good luck.  Features include a blade noting a Turkish Clip contour, a ferro-blackened folded steel handle, and a slim design that makes carrying it a snap.
