It works with two components: a beautifully contemporary controller you can place anywhere – a wall, table, desk, etc. – and a hidden box that takes care of the back-end functionality. Once installed, the Bang & Olufsen BeoSound Essence connects to a huge range of audio sources, including your Apple devices via AirPlay, DLNA streaming, Spotify Connect, QPlay, and thousands of internet radio stations. Listening to any of them is accomplished with a mere button press on the BeoSound Essence controller, with the ability to change stations, skip tracks, adjust volume or the mute the system all at your fingertips. For even more control, you also add in additional BeoSound Essence controllers ($200 each), offering room by room audio controls.
