Updating their Sport Quattro Concept, Audi has unveiled the Audi Sport Quattro Laserlight Concept – set to debut at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Like the original Sport Quattro Concept, the Laserlight boasts a plug-in hybrid powertrain consisting of a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine and a disc-shaped electric motor. Together, they produce a combined maximum output of 700 hp and 800 Nm of torque, enough to propel the model from 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 189 mph. More impressively, the Quattro Laserlight averages 94.1 mpg, with a range of 31 milestone electricity alone. Where the Laserlight differs from the standard Sport Quattro Concept is in its lights. The Laserlight features matrix LED headlights with laser light technology that are 3x as powerful as conventional LEDs. They’re powerful enough to illuminate the road up to 1,640 ft. while simultaneously blinding oncoming motorists in one fell swoop. My retinas are terrified just thinking about them.
