Adding to its performance-oriented SUV lineup, Porsche has introduced their new 2014 Porsche Macan – a smaller baby brother to their Cayenne SUV. Available in two models – the Macan S ($50,000 base price) and the Macan Turbo ($72,300 base price) – both models note impressive performance figures, which is exactly what you expect from Porsche. On the Macan S, the 340 hp V6 3.0-liter twin-turbo powerplant helps propel the model from 0 – 62 mph in 5.4 seconds before reaching a top speed of 158 mph. As for the Macan Turbo, its 400 hp V6 3.6-liter twin-turbo propels the SUV to 62 mph in just 4.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of 165 mph. Both models adopt a double wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear arrangement with variable damping control and an electro-mechanical steering system, with Porsche noting the Macan boasts “the most agile handling in its class”.
