The Nissan GT-R is a vehicle already renowned for its on-track performance, and today, Nissan has further enhanced the model, unveiling the 2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo. A race-inspired version of the already stellar GT-R, the new GT-R Nismo has what Nissan’s calling “absolute maximum factory tuned supercar dynamics”, with improvements including additional power, enhanced aerodynamics and ultra-precise handling. In total, the 2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo boasts 600 hp and 652 Nm of torque from its 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, while handling improvements came by way of new springs and custom Bilstein dampers at the front and rear suspension. Aerodynamic enhancements include a carbon fiber rear spoiler, a wider front bumper and an elongated, tapered rear bumper. Add it all up, and the Nissan GT-R recorded a 7:08.679 lap on Germany’s infamous Nurburgring, making it the fastest volume production car in the world.
While pricing for the 2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo has yet to be announced, Nissan has confirmed it will retail below the $200,000 mark, making it a bargain in comparison to supercars noting similar performance. You can check out more of the 2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo in the photo gallery below.
